After relocating to Little Rock, AR to live closer to family, I was looking on Zillow to rent a house. I had specific needs to safely accommodate my adult son who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair and walker. None of the homes I toured were a good fit. Out of curiosity, I looked at a house for sale on Zillow and within minutes I received a call from loan officer Wendy Rush. Wendy offered to crunch a few numbers to determine if I qualified for pre-approval to purchase a home. Why not? She did and I did – Wow! I never dreamed I could afford to purchase a house on my own being 65 years old, divorced, and a caregiver on a fixed income. Armed with this pre-approval assurance, I set out in earnest to find the right home for us. Wendy connected me with a hard working, dependable, and knowledgeable realtor who showed me homes in my price range that ticked off my accessibility requirement boxes. We found our dream home, made an offer that Wendy okay'ed, and went to contract. At that junction, Wendy flexed her lending muscles. I worked together with Wendy's diligent team, and spent the next days providing financial information needed for the underwriters' approval for an FHA 30-year mortgage. Wendy's deep knowledge of lending and regulations was immeasurable. She was kind and patient, answered all of my questions; she took the time to explain and educate me on the legalese/realty jargon on my disclosure documents and many others that I had to e-sign. I got a crash course in real estate lending!Ultimately, we closed on time in an incredible 3 weeks! Thanks to Wendy and her team, the experience of buying my first home was positive and rewarding from start to finish.
