Nathan Shorack fell into the financial world almost by accident. He attended the University of Miami with the intention of becoming a physician because they had an abbreviated program of study. Just before completing an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology, he realized that blood and body fluids were not part of his long-term plan. But, he knew he loved helping people. He had also discovered an interest in finance thanks, in part, to his Dad teaching him how to trade stocks. As a result, he ended up graduating with both and undergraduate and MBA in Business.
His career began in New York, where all Finance majors dream to go, working for a major investment bank that purchased mortgages and created bonds. He quickly realized that the New York life was not for a boy raised in sunny Southwest Florida, where he water-skied before school and played tennis every afternoon with his parents.
After a very successful career as a trader in Miami, he discovered the mortgage industry. Within a year, he founded his own successful mortgage company which ultimately had offices in Miami, Fort Myers, and Atlanta. During the economic meltdown in the first decade of this century, he discovered, through personal experience and watching many of his own clients suffer, the tremendous lack of financial knowledge that exists among Americans.
His true passion is educating people on how to win at the game of money, and one of the most important components of that is home ownership. He loves helping people not just buy their first homes, but also become completely financially free by using the tools that are available to everyone, but utilized by few.
He and his family split their time between their home in Fort Myers, FL and their home in Atlanta, GA. In their spare time, they love to play tennis and get out on the water, whether by boat or by float!
